Onyria Golf Resorts offer new teaching packages

Onyria Golf Resorts – the award-winning business with properties in the Algarve and Lisbon – has launched an enticing incentive for higher-handicap golfers looking to make major improvements to their game while on holiday.

The new package promises golfers with a handicap of between 12 and 36 that it will lower their scores by three or more shots following a special three-day tuition programme with head professional Gary Nairn. If the anticipated improvement fails to materialise, then guests will be offered a 30 per cent refund.

The promotion is valid from now until October 2014 and includes four nights’ twin-share accommodation at the Onyria Marinha Edition Hotel & Thalasso – recently rated as the third best hotel in the world by TripAdvisor.

The extensive tuition, which includes video analysis, will take place across three mornings, with Nairn accompanying students onto the Quinta da Marinha golf course to play 18 holes on three afternoons and incorporating mental and strategic aspects of the game.

The packages are priced at €746 per person and also include breakfast.

Nairn, an Australian PGA professional with 25 years’ experience working in Singapore, Holland and Portugal, is confident his teaching methods will deliver real benefits to his pupils.

He explained: “I’m inviting golfers to Quinta da Marinha to learn golf the Australian way and am sure that the combination of time on the range, video analysis and three full playing lessons will send golfers back home with a smile on their faces and the ability to shoot lower scores.”

Located in the delightful Quinta da Marinha estate – close to Cascais, on the Lisbon coast – the luxurious five-star boutique Onyria Marinha Edition Hotel & Thalasso opened in April 2011 and has previously been awarded “best service quality” from Turismo de Portugal. It sits adjacent to the Robert Trent Jones Sr-designed Quinta da Marinha golf course which enjoys magnificent views to the Atlantic Ocean and the mountain of Sintra.

The Quinta da Marinha Resort offers hospitality in the 198-room, five-star Hotel Quinta da Marinha, a member of the luxury collection of the Great Hotels of the World group, and in 40 one or two-bedroom townhouses.
