NIPPON SHAFT wins on PGA, LPGA & European Tours

Nippon Shaft scored a golf trifecta on Sunday, posting victories on the PGA, LPGA and European Tours on the same day.

The 41-year-old former U.S. Open champion shot a final round 7-under 64 to come from four shots back to win the 50th John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois by two strokes. The former Clemson Tiger used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 TX steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS³ Wedge 125 steel shafts in his wedges to finish at 19-under par. He earned $1.116 million and will be playing in this week’s Open Championship.

Another Modus Series victory came at the Scottish Open when a 22-year-old Australian used Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120X steel shafts in his wedges to defeat two other players on the first hole of a sudden death playoff at the Renaissance Golf Club in North Berwick, Scotland. He shot 18-under par in regulation and earned €1,123,300 for his second European Tour victory.

They were the 244th and 245th victories on major professional Tours for the Modus Series of steel shafts for irons and wedges.

Meanwhile on the women’s circuit, the 22-year-old from Japan recorded her fourth LPGA victory at the rain-shortened Marathon LPGA Classic using N.S. PRO 950GH steels shafts in her irons and wedges. She shot 19-under par before the tournament was reduced to a 54-hole event. She earned $300,000 for her victory at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.

“Nippon Shaft is very excited to congratulate the winners of the John Deere Classic, the Scottish Open and the Marathon LPGA Classic,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are pleased that all three players have won prestigious championships using the highest-quality shafts in the industry.”

More than 200 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy and trajectory.
