New RBH packages offer great opportunity for clubs to increase footfall

UK golf clubs looking to increase the number of pay-and-play visitors have the opportunity to participate in new golf packages with the UK’s leading independent hotel management company, RBH.

The RBH portfolio features more than 75 branded and private-label hotel properties – including Crowne Plaza, Doubletree by Hilton, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, IBIS Styles, Mercure and Ramada Encore – and nine QHotels golf resorts. Many are located in city centres adjacent to popular golfing regions and RBH is, consequently, launching a series of City Golf Getaways packages.

The first three hotels to launch the City Golf Getaways concept will be the four-star Aberdeen Altens Hotel, ideally situated for Trump International Golf Links, Royal Aberdeen and Murcar; the four-star Imperial Hotel, Blackpool, in the perfect location for access to England’s Golf Coast; and the three-star Holiday Inn Express, in Antrim, Northern Ireland – just 50 minutes from the host venue for the 2019 Open Championship, Royal Portrush, and a short hop to the golfing delights of Belfast.

RBH’s group director of golf and spa sales, Alan Foley, explained: “With nine exceptional golf resort locations, we are fully cognisant of what golfers look for when choosing a hotel – and this enables us to extend our golf offering to RBH’s non-resort hotels, many of which are located in city centres with easy access to golfing hotbeds, enabling golfers to mix their sport with a city break.

“It is organic growth for us and will be a big boon for golfers and a potential money-spinner for golf clubs near those hotels.”

RBH is also the largest golf resort operator in the UK, managing nine championship and tournament golf resorts, whose courses have hosted events from the European Tour, European Seniors Tour, Ladies European Tour and the PGA.
