More Wright stuff for Wilson

Doug Wright has been promoted by Wilson Golf to the role of global commercial director for Wilson effective from 2015. Wright has held a similar position across the EMEA region for more than a decade and will continue to lead the EMEA business until his successor is appointed, while making the transition into the global role. He will relocate to Chicago in the United States during 2016.

Wright who turned professional in 1991 and qualified as an assistant working for Clive Bonner at Bramshaw Golf Club, near Lyndhurst, Hampshire three years later. He began his career with Wilson Golf as a tech rep in 1998, before moving to Germany to become national sales manager and doubling the business in two years. He took over commercial management in the EMEA region covering 14 countries in 2003 and oversaw the sales growth arising from the sequence of major victories by Padraig Harrington. This year he signed Marcel Siem, who has enjoyed his best ever season on the European Tour with Wilson Staff irons.
