Mizuno launch SS19 apparel and footwear

Mizuno, the Japanese golf equipment manufacturer renowned for its performance products, has unveiled new and improved versions of its popular Nexlite and WAVE Cadence golf shoes for SS19 – the Nexlite Boa 006 and WAVE Cadence GTX – plus an extended apparel collection featuring three high-tech fabrics.

Mizuno’s new Spring Summer 2019 golf footwear and apparel collections boast improved versions of the popular Nexlite and WAVE Cadence shoes, plus a range of stylish yet simple apparel designs featuring elegant silhouettes in a selection of classic, plain colours, tailored from Solar Cut, Quick Dry and Move Tech high-performance fabrics.

The new SS19 WAVE Cadence GTX is the ultimate long-distance golf shoe, designed to go 36 holes and beyond. Based on Mizuno’s award-winning running platform, the WAVE Cadence GTX blends the comfort and support of a high-end running shoe, with the lateral stability and traction needed in golf. For SS19, the WAVE Cadence GTX will feature GORE-TEX® for the first time. This world-renowned membrane provides optimum footwear climate comfort thanks to its perfect marriage of durable waterproofness and optimised breathability that keeps feet both dry and comfortable.

The WAVE Cadence plate is engineered to handle uneven terrain with ease while providing a secure foundation for the golf swing. Added durability and traction come via Mizuno’s extremely hardwearing X10 carbon rubber that allows high-impact areas in the heel to last longer and perform better. WAVE Cadence GTX also features U41C, a unique, extremely light midsole compound engineered for high comfort and performance, plus the IG Multi Technology (Impact Grip System), engineered to deliveradded grip and stability throughout the swing in firm conditions, and specifically through impact, by spreading the force created in the golf swing more evenly across the foot. It also boosts comfort.

The WAVE Cadence GTX will be available in four colours: White, Grey, Navy/Grey and Black.

The Nexlite Boa 006 is a waterproof, spikeless golf shoe that shares the same WAVE platform technology as the WAVE Cadence GTX. This ultra-lightweight shoe features the Boa closure system instead of traditional laces, which makes it easier to put the shoes on and take them off, with the Boa dial tightening and releasing a durable Nylon-coated stainless steel wire lace that won’t stretch. For SS19 the new Nexlite Boa 006 will feature a fine-touch Kuraray upper that will be softer to the touch than in previous Nexlite models.

The Nexlite Boa 006 will be available in four colours for men: White, Black, White/Blue and White/Navy. There will also be two ladies’ options: White/Sky Blue and White/Turquoise.

One the apparel side, three different performance fabrics lead the way in Mizuno’s extended SS19 collection: Solar Cut, Quick Dry and Move Tech. Solar Cut Technology helps cool the body from the heat and ultraviolet light rays exerted by the sun by suppressing the transmission of not only infrared rays but also ultraviolet rays which are the cause of sunburn. It also suppresses the transmission of light, which improves cooling performance. Mizuno Quick Dry absorbs and diffuses moisture quickly, wicking moisture away from the skin while letting cool air in to keep the inside of the clothes more comfortable for the wearer. And Move Tech is Mizuno’s 4-way stretch fabric with specific material placement for ease of movement, incorporated into anatomical patterns.

Mizuno’s SS19 apparel collection features two Solar Cut polos and four Quick Dry polos. The Solar Cut Panel Polo is a lightweight summer shirt incorporating Solar Cut technology into a stylish yet simple design, while the Solar Cut Polo features a WAVE Cadence-inspired print. Both are available in four vibrant colours.

The Quick Dry collection comprises: a Quick Dry Textured Polo featuring a three-button deep placket, a button-down collar and a sophisticated subtle stripe design in four colours; a lightweight Quick Dry Stripe Polo with a twisted stripe design in a stretch fabric, also in four colours; and the Quick Dry and Quick Dry Plus polos with stretch properties, both available in six classic colours.

For those spring or summer days when a single layer is not enough, the Move Tech jacket and vest are the perfect companion, offering excellent showerproof and windproof protection in a fabric engineered to allow complete freedom to swing. Both stylish full-zip garments are perfect for those early morning starts or twilight rounds. They are woven from 100% polyester and are available in three striking colours: Light Grey, Black and Reflex Blue. The Move Tech Trouser and Short are also available in the same three colourways, woven from a polyester/polypropylene blend. Two caps complete the collection – the RB Cotton Twill, available in five colours, and the Print Mesh, with its WAVE Cadence-inspired peak design, available in four colours.

Mizuno’s SS19 footwear and apparel collections with be available at retail from March 2019.
