Membership of the UK Golf Federation keeps growing

Over the last few months the UK Golf Federation has seen amazing growth in its membership. Now with over 800 members it is truly national and represents and supports the commercial interests of its members’ golf courses and driving ranges right across the UK & Ireland.

The key message of the Federation has always been to help growing golf participation through it’s open access to golf facilities and to support all the key stakeholders in the golf industry in their programmes to get new and return to play golfers interested in the game.  This philosophy fits well with members’ visions for the future and is a major reason for the growth of the Federation.

Chairman and multi-site operator – Richard Haygarth commented “Being relevant to our members is a major factor in the growth in our membership, change is needed in some areas of the golfing marketplace if we are all to continue being financially successful – which is an essential for the future of golf. Our benefits of membership reflect our position in the industry as we look forward to having 1,000 members by the end of 2020”

Neil Burke – UKGF board member and golf facilities operator pointed out “the UKGF provides invaluable support to both my facilities both from the perspective of specific partner support like a partner insurers LINKSCOVER but also providing access to help on a number of other matters, I urge all golf course and driving range operators to join and participate the UK Golf Federation as the structure becomes increasingly relevant and a much-needed organisation within the golf industry”

The UKGF is a not-for-profit organisation now with over 800 member facilities whose aims are to represent and support the interests of proprietary, and operator commercial golf courses and driving ranges in the UK. It takes a key role in providing leadership in discussions with Government and golf’s governing bodies on all matters that impact commercially minded golf facilities. The Federation has a programme of benefits and opportunities for its members to enable them to understand and develop their business. Its mission is to “grow golf participation through open access golf facilities and grow the bottom line”.
