Meadows leads the field at Under Twelve Junior Championship

Henry Meadows, a nine year old member of Fynn Valley Golf Club has won the 15th East Anglian Under Twelve Junior Golf Championship with an 18 hole score of 73. Henry has been a consistent winner on the Stonham Barns nine hole golf course over the last year with nine wins in ten starts. He has three more years to play in this event and has the chance equal the three wins by Lee Spurling, the 2006, 2007 and 2008 winner.

In second place was eleven year old George Whitehall from Ely Golf Club with a score of 74 and in third place were eight year old Charlie Goodridge from Bury Golf Club and twelve year old Alfie Guy-Pinkney from Ely Golf Club with scores of 75.

The age categories were won by George Whitehall for the Under Twelves, Henry Meadows for the Under Tens and 6 year old Finlay Brock won the Under Eight age category with a score of 82 helped by a birdie at the third hole.

Stonham Barns Golf Centre has been hosting this event since 2001 and it gives the juniors the opportunity to experience some completive golf in a fun friendly environment. The main aim is they all enjoy the game even if they do not pick up any of the prizes.

There are eight junior events each year at Stonham Barns and any juniors from four to 15 are welcome to come along and have a game. More at: www.stonhambarnsgolf.co.uk
