Lynx goes wild after Women’s Senior US Open win for Davies

Staff at Lynx – the UK’s fastest-growing golf equipment brand – went wild last night after its ambassador Laura Davies lifted the first ever US Senior Women’s Open.

The four-time Major winner and seven-time winner of the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit blitzed a high-quality field at Chicago Golf Club, winning by 10 shots.

Back home, Lynx staff were glued to TVs and the internet as Davies scooped the inaugural event, with Lynx co-owner and CFO, Stephanie Zinser, saying: “We are absolutely over the moon and so pleased for Laura who has been great to work with since joining us. We sent her our warmest congratulations – it’s so exciting for Lynx to get this kind of success so early into our relaunch in the USA.

“The exposure she has gained Lynx during the US Senior Women’s Open has been incredible – her course record 66 on Saturday got the whole of golf talking as she rolled back the years with a majestic display.”

With a Lynx Black Cat driver and Lynx Parallax irons, Davies overpowered a field containing Tour legends like Juli Inkster, Liselotte Neumann and Helen Alfredsson.

Added Stephanie: “With our other recent signing, Trish Johnson, also in the hunt and finishing third this has been an incredible few days for Lynx and it proves that our clubs can be held up against up the very best and win.”

Throughout the week, Davies had been telling media how she hits the ball about the same distance now, at age 54, as she did 20 years ago, because of the technological improvements in club-making.

Following its debut at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January, the Lynx 2018 range is now distributed in the USA, as Weybridge, Surrey-based Lynx became a global golf brand.

Lynx Golf concentrates on developing high quality, technologically-advanced but affordable golf clubs, backed up by great customer service. In the UK, it has gained a strong foothold in ‘green grass’ golf accounts – retail operations typically run at golf courses by PGA Professionals – with clubs designed and assembled in the UK at the company’s Weybridge, Surrey, headquarters and custom fitting centre.
