Lynx expands demo day team with two new PGA pros

Lynx Golf has expanded its demo day team with the appointment of two more experienced PGA professionals.

Ryan Walters and Ben Johnson join Andy Sumner in creating a team that now covers the whole of the UK for Lynx and one that will stage more than 500 demo days at golf clubs and other locations this year.

With all three having vast club building skills, they will boost Lynx’s custom fitting services, managed by Advanced PGA Professional Mark Goodwin, by offering expert advice and feedback to golfers who try Lynx equipment at any demo day.

Having built a great reputation as a coach and instructor at Batchworth Park GC (Herts) and Girton GC (Cambs), Ryan has played competitively in the PGA East Region Order Of Merit events, Jamega Tour and TP Tour.

Ben Johnson, turned professional in 1997 at Dibden Golf Course near Southampton then moved to nearby Stoneham Golf Club where he was based until 2012. He took a year out to caddie on the European Tour for Richard Bland and also won over a dozen events playing on mini tours, before leaving the golf industry.

Just before last Christmas he was invited by a friend to play at Remedy Oak GC in Dorset and played with Lynx owners Steve Elford and Stephanie Zinser. Said Ben: “We had a great game despite the weather and afterwards in the clubhouse they were keen to get me on board. I went to the Lynx offices and it became very clear it was a company I wanted to be involved with, so I accepted the position as Demo Manager for the south.”

With Andy Sumner concentrating on the north of the country, and Ryan focusing on the Midlands, Lynx now has one of the most active demo day teams in the country. The team keeps an online diary of all planned events which can be viewed at here by anyone who wants to try Lynx products.

Lynx golf, which boasts one of the widest ranges in golf, designs and a manufactures ladies’ and men’s clubs, as well as open-stock junior hardware specifically designed for little and growing players.
