Lynx celebrates second major victory for Laura Davies

Lynx Golf, one of the world’s fastest-growing golf equipment brands, is celebrating its second Major win of the season after its playing ambassador Dame Laura Davies lifted the Senior LPGA Championship at French Lick, Indiana.

Davies carded a final day two-under par 70 for a four-shot advantage as she added the Senior LPGA title to the 2018 US Senior Women’s Open, with the team at Lynx’s UK-based headquarters cheering her all the way.

A four-time Major winner on the regular LPGA Tour and seven-time winner of the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit, 55-year-old Davies plays Lynx Parallax irons and was the only player to shoot below par for all three rounds at the Pete Dye-designed French Lick layout.

Only four players finished under par at the notoriously difficult course, while fellow Lynx® staffer Trish Johnson, joined Davies in the top 10 with a strong sixth place.

The win was celebrated by Lynx co-owner and CFO, Stephanie Zinser, who said: “This is amazing and an absolute milestone for Lynx. It’s the first time the LPGA has staged two senior Majors in a season and Lynx, through Laura, has lifted them both, effectively bagging a grand slam.

“Laura enjoyed a phenomenal career on the regular LPGA and LET tours and she is now doing it again at a senior level. She is a joy to work with, so easy going, and as Lynx continues to grow its global footprint she is the perfect ambassador for us.”

In windy conditions with a Lynx Parallax driver and Lynx Parallax irons in her bag, Davies overpowered a field containing Tour stars including Helen Alfredsson, Catriona Matthew, Juli Inkster and Liselotte Neumann.

Added Stephanie: “This has been an incredible Summer for Lynx. Winning both senior Majors means Dame Laura is certainly the queen of the seniors circuit and with Trish (Johnson) high up the leaderboard in both events too, it demonstrates the quality of our equipment and its ability to compete and perform at the very highest levels of the game.”

Following its debut at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando last January, the Lynx 2018 range is now distributed in the USA, and 21 other countries around the globe. It is one of the fastest-growing golf equipment brands in the world, and in the year to date (Jan-Sept 2018), the Weybridge, Surrey, UK-based company reported a 35% increase in sales compared to the same period last year.

Lynx Golf concentrates on developing high quality, technologically-advanced but affordable golf clubs, backed up by great customer service. In has gained a strong foothold in ‘green grass’ golf accounts – retail operations typically run at golf courses by PGA Professionals.
