LOCAL FAMILIES CAN SWING INTO SUMMER DURING MAY HALF TERM

As the May half term approaches, local residents will have a unique opportunity to try their hand at one of Britain’s most beloved sports through England Golf’s nationwide ‘Get into Golf’ Week.

Running from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 May, this initiative aims to break down barriers to the sport by offering fun, accessible sessions designed specifically for beginners and those looking to return to the game after time away.

Local clubs and facilities will be hosting family-friendly activities throughout the week, coinciding perfectly with the May half term break, offering parents an engaging activity to enjoy with their children.

“Get into Golf Week is about showing that golf isn’t just for certain people, it’s genuinely for everyone,” said Ben White, a spokesperson for England Golf. “Clubs and facilities have designed these sessions to be welcoming, pressure-free, and most importantly, fun.”

The national campaign particularly aims to welcome more women and families into the sport, addressing traditional perceptions about golf while highlighting its benefits as an inclusive, social activity.
