LAYER UP WITH ABACUS THIS AUTUMN

Premium outdoor apparel brand Abacus Sportwear has got the bases covered when it comes to kitting out golfers for playing in all conditions, with its range of performance-driven outerwear designed to protect against rain, wind and cold, while also keeping the wearer cool and comfortable when the sun comes out.

This all-round protection is especially key when faced with the vagaries of the UK climate when warm, sunny mornings can just as quickly turn into cold and windy afternoons, which is why Abacus’s eye-catching range of new midlayers are a must-have item in any serious golfer’s wardrobe as we move into autumn and winter.

The brand’s Bangor, Hoylake and Sunningdale midlayers offer a wide choice of options when it comes to needing to add warmth without bulk while maintaining complete freedom of movement.

BANGOR MIDLAYER

The men’s Bangor is a super-practical midlayer that is ideal for taking the chill off those early morning rounds or when the temperature is less than optimal. The stretchy, fleece material is a polyester/spandex mix which provides a knitted structure on the outside and is brushed on the inside, delivering an ultra-soft, cosy feel and enabling an unrestricted swing. The material also boasts DryCool and moisture-wicking properties, ensuring the wearer never over-heats.

Thoughtful design details include elasticated cuffs and hems to keep out unwanted draughts, a half-zip at the front and a pocket on the right sleeve.  Offered in Sizes S-XXXL, the Bangor Midlayer comes in light blue with a navy contrast across the shoulders and on the zip, right arm pocket and hems.  RRP: £99

HOYLAKE THERMO MIDLAYER

The men’s Hoylake Thermo Midlayer ramps up weather protection levels by introducing a windproof, padded quilted fabric to the upper portion of this long-sleeve midlayer that wraps around the front and back for all-round extra warmth where it is needed most.

Made from a stretchy fleece material that is brushed on the inside for maximum comfort, the Hoylake offers unrestricted movement in all directions.  Design features include a half-zip at the front and a practical chest pocket with a zipper on the right side.

Available in a long sleeve full zip version for ladies the Hoylake thermo midlayer comes with two side pockets with zippers and the same warm, stretchy brushed material that offers complete freedom of movement and warmth.  Abacus logos are located along the chest pocket and on the back, just below the collar for the men and at the front body bottom and back below the collar for women.  DryCool technology in both styles ensures efficient temperature control in all climates.

The men’s version is offered in a choice of five stylish colour combinations – white/navy, navy/royal blue, nougat/black, forest green/navy, and black/black. Sizes: S-XXXL. RRP: £99 Women’s is available in two colours – peach or violet.  Sizes: XS to XXL. RRP: £89

SUNNINGDALE MIDLAYER

The Men’s and ladies Sunningdale Midlayers are made from stretchy, breathable polyester fabric which has a brushed melange fleece on one side and checked pattern on the inside designed to trap warm air against the body on those days when the temperature drops.

The men’s version is a half-zip top featuring Drycool technology that transports perspiration away from the body to the fabric’s outer surface where it can be quickly and efficiently evaporated, helping the wearer to stay dry and comfortable. The inside has a check pattern which increases air circulation. The women’s version has all the same attributes as the men’s and comes with a full zip at the front and two front pockets

Design elements include solid contrast fabric on the shoulders and side-panels and a stand-up collar making the Sunningdale a stylish addition to any golfer’s wardrobe.

Offered in a choice of seven colours for men – Navy, Black, Cranberry, Olive, Forest, Eucalyptus, Light Grey/Black – it is available in Sizes: S-XXXL. RRP: £74.

Women’s is available in three colours – navy, black, light grey/black. Sizes: XS – XXL. RRP: £79
