Kaymer wins US Open with TaylorMade clubs

Martin Kaymer won the US Open at Pinehurst No 2 playing with TaylorMade equipment. It was an impressive wire-to-wire victory with a nine-under total of 271 and a winning margin of eight shots. Scores of 65 in the first two rounds gave Kaymer the joint-biggest halfway lead at a US Open, so by the weekend no one could catch the former world number one, who won his first major at the 2010 PGA Championship.

Kaymer used an SLDR driver to drive the green on the shortened par four third hole in the final round and new Tour Preferred MC irons, including a three iron de-lofted to a two iron for low trajectory shots and maximum roll on Pinehurst’s fast fairways. He also wore adidas adicross gripmore shoes.

It was Kaymer’s second wire-to-wire win in five weeks following his win at The Players Championship and moves him to eleventh in the world rankings.
