Kaymer and Furyk duel it out with TaylorMade

Martin Kaymer held off a final day charge by veteran Jim Furyk to win The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Kaymer had a wire to wire victory, equalling the course record of 63 with his opening round and finishing 13 under with 275 to beat Furyk by one stroke. The win moves the former world number one up a projected 96 places in the world rankings to eighteenth place.

Kaymer had TaylorMade clubs in his bag including an SLDR Driver set to 9.5 degrees for tee shots. In addition to SLDR metalwoods, Kaymer also played the new TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC irons. Furyk also played with TaylorMade clubs as did Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose who finished third and tied fourth respectively in the so called ‘fifth major’.

Kaymer was also wearing Adidas Golf’s gripmore footwear featuring an innovation in cleat design that combines the performance benefits of spiked and spikeless footwear into one.
