Nike Golf And Molinari Say Thank You To TGI Partners

On the 10th September at Royal-Mid Surrey Golf Club twelve TGI professionals and their amateur guests were invited to a special event hosted by TGI with Nike Golf Tour staff athlete Francesco Molinari as “The Star Turn”.  The event was a better ball stableford competition which was played in glorious late summer conditions.

Ryder Cup hero Molinari was an integral part of the European team’s famous victory at Medinah in 2012, earning a crucial half-point in his singles match against fellow Nike Tour staff athlete Tiger Woods which ensured Europe won the cup outright.

The TGI professionals, their guests and many excited onlookers from RMSGC were treated to a 45-minute clinic from Francesco, who also fielded multiple questions on his Ryder Cup experience and how Nike Golf’s arsenal of equipment and apparel help him perform to his best. Molinari also played three holes with each fourball, offering invaluable tips and advice.

Eddie Reid, TGI Golf Partnership Managing Director, said: “We are extremely grateful to Nike Golf for arranging this day exclusively for TGI Golf Partners and their guests. Having the opportunity to play alongside and chat to a top Tour Pro like Francesco Molinari will be the highlight of many of their golfing lives. He was more than happy to interact with everyone, telling stories from the Tour, as well as his Ryder Cup experiences and answering any questions they had. He is credit to his profession and everyone attending will take away a very special memory. Events like this continue to strengthen the special bond the TGI Golf Partnership has with Nike Golf and long may that continue.”

Said Simon Parkhill, Nike Golf EMEA sales director, “Nike Golf has an amazing stable of athletes and it’s our priority to leverage our brand assets with our strategic partners. It’s important for us that our customers and consumers are given insight into the unique relationship Nike holds with its athletes in the pursuit of relentless product innovation. Francesco is a great example of that.”

The winning pair on the memorable day was host professional Matthew Paget and club secretary Luke Edgecumbe, with the three top pairs winning TW’14 Nike ID gift cards.
