Iben Tinning to captain Europe Junior Solheim Cup Team

Iben Tinning from Denmark has been appointed as the captain of the European Team to play against America in the 2015 Ping Junior Solheim Cup at Golf Club St Leon-Rot, near Heidelberg, Germany, on from 14 to 15 September, 2015. She has won six Ladies European Tour titles and is currently working as coach for the Danish National Golf Team.

The 40 year-old four-time Solheim Cup player takes over the role from Scotland’s Janice Moodie as Europe bids to win the biennial transatlantic contest featuring the twelve best female junior amateur players from both Europe and America for the first time since 2007. Tinning becomes the new captain at a time when the profile of the Ping Junior Solheim Cup will be boosted by being played at the same venue as The Solheim Cup itself, for the first time.

Tinning stated, “I am honoured and thrilled to be selected as captain of Europe’s Ping Junior Solheim Cup team for 2015. I’m excited to get the chance to work with talented young girls of this calibre and I hope my playing and coaching experience will help to bring the best out of the girls. I have a huge passion for junior golf and there is certainly no better place to hold the match than at St Leon-Rot because it is a club that places a huge emphasis on developing junior players.”
