Honma 5-Star Set to display at British Golf Museum

HONMA Golf will showcase its famous BERES 5-Star club set worth in excess of £60,000 in the British Golf Museum at St Andrews as the Old Course hosts the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship next week.

According to HONMA, a full set of BERES 5-Star luxury clubs represents a masterpiece of craftsmanship and they are widely accepted as the most expensive set of golf clubs in the world today.

Each club is created and assembled by Japanese Master Craftsmen at the HONMA factory in Sakata, Japan, where they are plated with platinum and 24-carat gold, contributing to the value of £4,150 per club in the 14-club set. These unrivalled clubs are carried in a distinctive black leather golf bag with gold trim, which is also valued at more than £4,000.

Laurie Rae, Senior Curator at the British Golf Museum said: “We look forward to attracting many of the spectators, celebrities and professional golfers here next week, as we showcase the most expensive set of golf clubs in the world. It’s not every day you get to see such a high-quality attention to detail put into a set of golf clubs and we’re delighted to team up with HONMA Golf to make this happen.”

“We are honoured to have the British Golf Museum display the most premium golf clubs on the market today,” said Alejandro Sanchez, General Manager of HONMA Golf Europe, based in Switzerland. “The BERES 5-Star set represents the pinnacle of the HONMA brand and our promise to deliver the finest quality that money can buy,” he added.

The BERES 5-Star set will be on display in the Museum from Monday 1st October for the duration of the Dunhill Links Championship. Some of the biggest stars on the European Tour will be playing and looking to take home the trophy currently held by Tyrrell Hatton, who became the first man to successfully defend the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last year.
