HØJGAARD TRIUMPHS AFTER EPIC ALL-CALLAWAY PLAY-OFF IN DENMARK

Callaway’s Rasmus Højgaard won an epic six-hole play-off battle against fellow Staffer Nacho Elvira to capture the Made in HimmerLand 2023 tournament on home soil.

The 22-year-old Dane, claiming his fourth DP World Tour title, sealed a perfect final day for #TeamCallaway, that incredibly saw six of its staffers finish in the Top 10 at the Farsø-based golf course.

Rasmus and Nacho, who ended regulation play on -13, were closely followed by team-mates Richie Ramsay (-12), and Marc Warren, Alexander Björk and Kalle Samooja (-11).

“I’m speechless at the moment. To win a home event, it’s amazing, this is better than I could ever dream of. We’ve wanted a Danish winner at this event for so long now, so to be the first one to do it is amazing,” said an excited Rasmus, who relied on a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey products, and a Chrome Soft X Golf Ball, to seal victory.

It also marked another incredible win for Callaway’s Paradym Driver, its 10th win now on the DP World Tour, which continues to dominate professional tournaments around the globe, and is the company’s most successful Driver introduction on tour ever.

Rasmus, who picked up a €507,458 winner’s cheque, used a Paradym Triple Diamond Driver that is a compact, 450cc shape designed for better players who want to work the ball. It’s the lowest spinning and lowest launching of three Paradym models, with a neutral ball flight.

As a welcome consolation, Nacho, Kalle and Marc’s efforts earned each of them a place at The Open at Royal Liverpool Golf Club (Rasmus, Richie and Alexander had already qualified).

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway EMEA, commented: “This tournament marked yet another sensational DP World Tour event for #TeamCallaway. To see so many of our Staffers in such great form going into the final Major of the season at Hoylake, is extremely exciting.”
