Hiseman’s 2020 photo portfolio shows golf’s emotions

Golf photographer Andy Hiseman’s 2020 portfolio, published today on the web, is more than just a collection of beautiful golfing sunrises.

Alongside inspirational golf course photography, often taken during the ‘magic hour’ around dawn or sunset, the portfolio at www.hisemanphoto.com bursts into life by celebrating the characters behind club golf, usually in unguarded moments.

Modern golf’s multicultural aspects are another frequent theme, as are golf’s youthful side and its growing female-friendly nature.

“I like to take photos of the emotion and humour of life at a golf club” said Hiseman.  “I want people to relax, click on the images, and see if I’ve captured their sport as they know it.

“Golf is hard but if you play it for fun there’s usually a good dose of laughter among the pain.

“I look for those moments in my photographs.”

On Hiseman’s website over 1,000 images are arranged into five categories, with Spa & Leisure a growing presence alongside the main Golf channel plus Facilities & Food, People and Press & Marketing.

“Andy is very easy to work with, and executed the brief perfectly” said Ella Robbins at The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa, after a 2019 photoshoot in the hotel’s Kohler Waters Spa.

“Andy’s images capture the enjoyment of life at our golf club” said Tom Scott at Harpenden Golf Club.

“I’m thrilled with the outcome after Andy’s photoshoot” said Martin Hucklesby at Goring & Streatley Golf Club. “We now have a wealth of photos showing exactly what we wanted, and our new website is performing very well as a result.”

After good growth on golf courses in 2019, the 2020 season is set to be perfect for glorious golf course photography, said Hiseman. “The dry summer of 2018 saw many courses in recovery mode during early 2019, but with plenty of rainfall last season we are heading into 2020 with great potential for lush, green fairways – so I can’t wait to get started again.”

Hiseman completed his 100th golf club photoshoot in July 2019, at GB&I Top 100 golf resort Tewkesbury Park.
