Matsuyama displayed his exceptional ball control throughout the tournament, ranking top three in strokes gained approach, scrambling, and first in strokes gained overall. The Sentry, known for its elite field and course complexities, highlighted Matsuyama’s performance, including his accuracy, hitting over 87% of greens in regulation with the new ball. Matsuyama finished the tournament at 35-under 257, the lowest 72-hole scoring record in a PGA TOUR event.
