Golf Genius set to drive player participation this winter

Golf Genius, the leading global provider of cloud-based tournament software, has announced a comprehensive winter league package to help golf clubs increase participation throughout the winter months.

The completely flexible package offers a great way to keep a membership engaged through Golf Genius’ innovative library of fun and varied formats which together form a bespoke winter league or order of merit.

Typically, clubs have to work hard to retain interest from their membership throughout the cold and dark winter period, however Golf Genius’ solution offers weekly signups through Golf Genius or BRS as well as purse management and league engagement to encourage more golfers to play regularly.

High quality printed materials, email communication, and instant availability of online results further enhances the player experience while in-app scoring speeds up scoring and simultaneously reduces work for the golf club administrator, who receives total support from Golf Genius’ team.

Many clubs have seen great success with the winter league proposal over the last few years including Shipley Golf Club in West Yorkshire, which has used the software to get more of its members on the course in winter-time.

Head PGA Professional, Nathan Stead, has been delighted with the implementation at the club: “The winter league was a real success here at Shipley. The members absolutely loved it and their feedback was overwhelming. It definitely had a positive impact of golf participation,” he commented.

Craig Higgs, Managing Director of Golf Genius International, added: “The cold weather and shortened days often present clubs with a real challenge, however, our comprehensive winter league offering has proven to bring more golfers back to the course and increase revenue throughout the toughest months of the year.

“Using Golf Genius is a plug and play solution, setting up a simple best four of six monthly events with an order of merit play-off can be done in minutes, tailored to suit any number of formats.”
