West Surrey Golf Club head professional Duncan Giblett took centre stage at the first Foremost Pro-Am at Spain’s La Manga Club after clinching victory in both the individual and team competitions.

Giblett claimed top honors at the luxury venue after scoring an impressive 127 Stableford points over 54 holes to beat his nearest challenger Adam Chamberlain, from Peterborough Milton Golf Club, by three points, with Exeter Golf & Country Club’s Gary Milne a further three points back in third.

Paul Hedges, CEO of Foremost Golf, who also presented the prizes, said: “The event was a huge success, the sun shone throughout and the players enjoyed great golfing conditions.

“We used all three courses, which meant that the field faced the challenge of playing a different style of course each day, and the speed of the greens measured 10 on the stimpmeter, certainly a lot faster than winter conditions in the UK.

“Everyone enjoyed everything that La Manga Club had to offer and plans are already in place for the event to return to the resort in a bigger and better format next year.”
