Galvin Green sponsors PGA Assistants’ Championship

Galvin Green has become title sponsors of the PGA Assistants’ Championship as part of a new relationship with the Professional Golfers’ Association. Title sponsorship of the tournament is one element of the three-year agreement between The PGA and Galvin Green, which also includes the company joining the PGA Partner Programme.

The PGA Assistants’ Championship is the PGA’s longest-running national tournament and this will be its 65th staging, having first been competed for in 1930. This year’s 54-hole Galvin Green PGA Assistants’ championship will be held at Coventry Golf Club for the second successive year from 5 to 7 August and will carry a prize fund of £32,500.

More than 400 PGA assistants will tee up at seven regional qualifiers across Great Britain and Ireland in a bid to book their place for a shot at the prestigious title and a chance to win a Galvin Green wardrobe for the remainder of the season.

Mike Johnson-Hill, managing director of Galvin Green UK said, “Galvin Green is proud to be associated with such a long-standing and valued event and keen to support the younger generation of PGA professionals who are so important to the future of the game.”
