Leading golf apparel brand Galvin Green has teamed up with six-time DP World Tour winner
and 2018 Ryder Cup player Thorbjørn Olesen over ten years after the Danish star last wore
the brand’s high-performance clothing on Tour.
Having secured a tied-fourth-place finish at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship last weekend, the Dane headlines the 2023 Tour lineup of 17 players from around the world. Having worn Galvin Green outfits on Tour between 2009 and 2012, he will now showcase the brand’s latest performance-driven garments as he looks to build on last year’s impressive win at the Betfred British Masters and Race to Dubai ranking of 26th place.
“We are very pleased to welcome Thorbjørn back into the Team Galvin Green fold, in what
has been a very successful career for him so far,” said Conor Petters, Marketing Manager UK & Ireland. “Wearing our high-performance clothes will hopefully give him the edge to get over the line again this year and add to his already impressive list of achievements at the top level,” he added.
Commenting on his return to the Swedish brand, Thorbjørn said: “I’m delighted to be back
wearing Galvin Green clothing as I look to take my career another step forward. The brand’s Never Compromise approach gives me the confidence that I can perform at the highest level whatever the weather, whilst its use of eco-friendly materials assures me that what I’m wearing has been manufactured responsibly and helps to make golf more sustainable.”
He is joined by long-standing Swedish ambassador Alexander Björk, who carded all four
rounds in the 60s in Ras Al Khaimah to finish tied-second on 16-under par and move up 24
places to 12th in the season-long rankings. Last year’s Portugal Masters Champion Jordan
Smith extends his contract with the brand on a multi-year deal after a career-best season,
while promising young Dane Oliver Hunderbøll joins the setup as a DP World Tour rookie
after an eighth-place finish in the 2022 Road to Mallorca Rankings on the Challenge Tour.
Spain’s Santiago Tarrio will wear the top-quality styles for another season on the DP World
Tour, as will Chris Paisley and Lorenzo Scalise on the Challenge Tour.
Competing on the PGA Tour wearing the latest long-lasting garments is Glasgow-born
Martin Laird. The four-time PGA Tour winner is joined by former Houston Open champion
Lanto Griffin, who recorded four top 10 finishes in the 21/22 season. Both players have
worn Galvin Green clothing for multiple years.
Steph Kyriacou joins Team Galvin Green playing on the Ladies European Tour this year. The
22-year old Australian enjoyed a strong showing at the 2022 AIG Women’s British Open,
finishing tied-seventh in a star-studded field. Alexandra Swayne is another new ambassador after turning professional in 2022 having secured her LET playing rights, while Cara Gainer, Hazel MacGarvie and Amy Boulden will continue wearing Galvin Green in 2023.
News of the Tour player lineup follows the announcement of the 2023 Sustainability Report
launched last week where Amy commented on her appreciation of the long-lasting Galvin
Green garments.
Ambassadors on the LET Access Tour looking to take the next step in their careers include
Sweden’s Corinne Viden, Spain’s Teresa Diez Moliner and Sophie Stone from England.
“We are delighted to continue our support of Tour players and believe each member of
Team Galvin Green will be great brand ambassadors in front of huge global audiences in
2023,” said Petters. “We hope to add more elite golfers to the team during the season to
further elevate the brand name whilst wearing our premium golf clothing that performs in
all weather conditions, whilst looking the part,” he added.
