Galvin Green appoints Ian Kapp as UK&I Commercial Director

Galvin Green has appointed long-serving Ian Kapp as Commercial Director of its operation in the UK and Ireland, the leading apparel brand’s largest single marketplace.

Kapp, who first became involved with the brand in 2004 as a customer service manager attending around 200 stockists, will now oversee relationships with more than three times the number of retail partners and a growing list of corporate business clients.

The appointment comes at a time when sales of Galvin Green garments and accessories in the UK and Ireland are 40% up on the same period in 2020 (up to the end of September 2021) and the brand is making serious waves in the environmental space, having won the prestigious 2021 Sports Technology Award for Sustainability.

South African born Kapp said: “Having worked with Galvin Green for the past 17 years, I can appreciate what has made the brand so popular, as well as those issues that our customers are looking for us to address in the future. This appointment enables me to build stronger and better relationships with our retail partners and work more closely with our experienced Sales Agents across the domestic market. I will also be looking to expand our corporate business that supplies premium companies and organisations with the best looking and performing golf clothing that money can buy.”

Commenting on the appointment, CEO Nicholai Stein said: “We are very fortunate to have someone of Ian’s knowledge and experience leading our commercial business in Europe’s largest golf market. He and the UK sales team are dedicated to supporting our retail partners and build on our key messages to consumers around product innovation and sustainability. As well as producing long-lasting, high-performance garments, we also base our business relationships around a similar philosophy of longevity and quality that Ian will be looking to extend in the future.”

An avid sports fan, Kapp lives in Middlesex and enjoys watching rugby, cricket and tennis, while trying hard to improve his golf game.
