Dalglish looking for hat trick at La Manga

Liverpool and Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish and former Aston Villa striker turned Sky Sports TV pundit Alan McInally will be seeking hat-tricks of a different kind when they compete in the 18th edition of the Footballers’ Golf Classic at La Manga Club this summer.

The duo have both won the event twice before and will be joined at the top Spanish resort by a wealth of footballing talent including other previous winners Pat Jennings and Russell Osman when the popular competition, sponsored by John Griffin, takes place from June 7-12.

Defending champion Steve Lovell will be chasing his third victory in the last four years at La Manga Club but the ex-Millwall and Wales striker faces a stiff challenge from one of the strongest fields assembled for many years.

Ex-England internationals Lee Hendrie and Joe Corrigan are set to make their debuts in the competition alongside former Northern Ireland goalkeeper Maik Taylor and past Premier League stars Steve Sedgley and Alan Neilson.

Former Liverpool, Tottenham and England striker Paul Walsh will be making his first appearance in the event for many years and he will be joined on La Manga Club’s famous fairways by other ex-England internationals including Des Walker, Dave Beasant, Ray Clemence and Steve Bull.
