Crossland wins Foremost Championship

Kevin Crossland, head professional from Worksop Golf Club, has won the Foremost Championship at Hadley Wood Golf Club in Hertfordshire. He secured a three shot victory over Mark Bishop (Toot Hill GC), Jason Levermore (Channels GC), Adam Powell (Hartford GC), Chris Tyrrell (New Forest GC) and 2013 champion David Wood from Orsett Golf Club in Essex. Crossland won a first prize of £1,000 and also secured a place in the Foremost team for the annual Ashworth Cup to be played at Gleneagles in July.

This year’s Foremost Championship was the precursor for three new Regional Foremost Championships to be played at South Staff GC (Central Region) on 12 May, Pannal GC (North Region) 9 June and The Players Club (South Region) on 16 June. Foremost’s 2014 Ashworth Cup team will be finalised at the conclusion of these events.

Foremost CEO Paul Hedges commented, “I would like to congratulate Kevin for winning this year’s Championship and for playing so well despite the conditions. The standard of golf was exceptional and that augers well for the annual Ashworth Cup in a couple of months’ time.”
