ClubstoHire team up with David Howell

ClubstoHire.com have signed a multi-year agreement with England’s David Howell for the European Tour star and former Ryder Cup player to act as a global brand ambassador.

Howell, who appears as a regular pundit on Sky Sports’ televised golf coverage and contributes to popular golfing publications, will promote the club rental brand across European Tour events and social media platforms. He will also provide golfing tips for readers of the brand’s digital e-zine that goes out to 54,000 customers who have hired clubs from the company in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.

“I love the simple idea of golfers collecting top quality clubs on arrival at their golfing destinations and not having to drag them around to and from airports or pay excess luggage charges on airlines,” said David. “It’s a great concept and one I’m looking forward to promoting further to help more golfers enjoy playing the game when travelling abroad.”

The Dublin-based rental firm offers the latest clubs on the market from between £32 and £55 per week at 23 locations around the world, including the United States, Thailand, South Africa and five different countries across the Mediterranean.

Commenting on the signing, Chief Executive Tony Judge said: “As well as a top quality European Tour player who is extremely well-known to golfers throughout Europe, David has the ideal personality to associate with our brand and its growing number of customers. Around half of our customers are now drawn from the UK and David is the perfect fit for the demographic profile we supply with current sets from brands like TaylorMade, Callaway, Mizuno and Wilson Staff,” he added.

Since joining the European Tour in 1996, Howell has won six prestigious titles – the Alfred Dunhill Links (2013), the BMW Championship and HSBC Champions Tournament (2006), the BMW International Open (2005), the Dubai Desert Classic (1999) and the Australian PGA Championship (1998). He also represented Europe in two victorious Ryder Cup teams – at Oakland Hill in 2004 and at The K-Club in 2006, where he won 2½ points of a possible three.
