BlackStar Golf sign Mullen

Jimmy Mullen, who recently turned professional, has signed with BlackStar Golf as an ambassador for the brand.

The 21-year old made his professional debut at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, sharing the lead on 11 under par at the halfway stage before eventually finishing joint 30th at the event at St Andrews.

The golfer from Devon won all four of his matches at the Walker Cup at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club and in doing so he became only one of four players from Great Britain and Ireland to achieve the feat, an achievement that hasn’t been equaled since 1999 when Luke Donald and Paul Casey won their four matches.

Jeremy Robinson of BlackStar Golf said: “We are delighted that Jimmy has chosen to join us. He has had a very successful amateur career culminating in playing such a significant role in Nigel Edwards’ winning Walker Cup team. I have followed his game closely over the last few years and hope we can help him achieve his goals as a professional”.

“Having achieved my amateur goal of playing in the Walker Cup I feel now is the time to turn professional,” commented Jimmy Mullen. “Hopefully my experience playing amateur golf internationally will help me and I am very much looking forward to working with BlackStar.”
