There were wins on the PGA, DP World, PGA Tour Champions and Ladies European Tours for FootJoy shoe wearers at the weekend, with all victors sporting a different model from the performance range.
In the final full-field event of the season on the DP World Tour, Byeong Hun An prevailed in a playoff to win on home soil on Sunday and claim his second tour title.
On his way to victory, the South Korean relied on the athletic performance of FootJoy’s HyperFlex golf shoe, purposely designed to empower the golfer athlete.
FootJoy has been leading the way in the athletic shoe sphere using market-leading technology and premium materials in order to expand the influence of what a performance shoe can achieve.
“When HyperFlex came out, I really loved it because it feels like it wraps my feet a little bit better than any of the other models I have tested,” said An.
“As golfers, you end up walking for four/five hours per round, so you need to be wearing good quality golf shoes. We don’t play on the flattest of surfaces, so it is vital to be wearing shoes that are stable and fit you correctly.
“Simarlarly to a golf club where you need to be playing with a shaft and loft that is right for you, this is the same with shoes where you want to be playing in a product that can help enhance your game.”
At the event, over half of the field chose to put their trust in the #1ShoeinGolf (60%), more than triple the nearest competitor. It was not just shoes which topped the equipment counts for the week however, with 46% of the field opting to wear the #1GloveinGolf.
On the PGA Tour Champions, Padraig Harrington earned his ninth victory after a two-shot victory in Arksansas at the weekend.
This is the Irishman’s third victory of the season and puts a lot of this success down to wearing a pair of proper performance golf shoes, allowing him to play his best.
“I really like the stability of the Tour Alpha,” Harrington said.
“It is obviously a very comfortable shoe and is easy to wear around, but I am very much about the performance of the golf shoe, you won’t see me walking around in a pair of tennis trainers slipping and sliding.
“I want something that has stability where I can generate that ground force and power from and with the Tour Alpha I can’t see there being a better performance golf shoe out there.”
Elsewhere, Nico Echavarria wearing his Premiere Series Wilcox golf shoes claimed his second PGA Tour win after beating fellow FJ ambassador Justin Thomas by one shot in Chiba, Japan.
Premiere Series footwear is the overwhelming choice of players around the world and continues to be the #1 shoe on both the PGA and DP World Tours, worn by the likes of Max Homa, Will Zalatoris, Wyndham Clark, Matteo Manassero and many more.
Alongside being #1 on tour, Premiere Series is also the best selling golf shoe in the UK,* with golfers of all levels trusting in the model’s unrivalled traction and super-soft underfoot cushioning.
In the women’s game, Liz Young took home her second LET title after a one-shot victory at Hero Indian Open.
