6th Generation of Legendary Diamana Shafts Expands to Include the Mid-Launch Blue Board Profile.
The original Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard might just be the most iconic golf shaft ever, found in the bags of multiple major winners and most famously used by Tiger Woods.
Following the successful release of the first profile in January, Mitsubishi Golf has launched the second in the latest generation of the iconic Diamana Series: the smooth-feeling, mid-launching BB Profile. This highly anticipated profile is already in play on professional tours around the globe and will be available for pre-order at select retailers beginning in mid-July.
Like its lower-launching counterpart, WB, the Diamana BB features the latest proprietary material and structural technologies – including Consistent Feel Design for greater fitting and the Xlink Tech Resin System to enhance structural strength – all wrapped in the legendary flower and surf iconography that has been elemental to the brand since the original launch in 2004.
As with all blue colour-coded Mitsubishi shafts, Diamana BB – the ‘BB’ designation stands for ‘Blue Board’ – is a mid-launch, mid-spin profile most suitable for golfers looking to increase the launch trajectory off the tee while also maximising speed and distance. Additionally, like all prior Diamana mid-launch profiles, Mitsubishi engineers have designed the structure to deliver the renowned ‘unlike any other’ smooth feel so often associated with the brand. Indeed, to ensure the unmistakable “pure feel” distinction, Mitsubishi has utilised their proprietary Xlink Tech Resin System to increase the overall strength and durability of the shaft while also driving carbon fibre volume up. That carbon fibre – both 80-ton DIALEAD pitch fibre in the handle and 46-ton throughout the angle plies – not only increases energy transfer but also lowers torque, providing greater stability.
“We are humbled by the level of excitement we’ve seen from consumers and industry partners alike for this new generation of Diamana,” noted Mark Gunther, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Mitsubishi Chemical Sporting Goods Division. “Though people do really love the new look, this new shaft series goes beyond just its retro cosmetic. Golfers who try Diamana BB will immediately recognise the performance characteristics and feel so often associated with the Diamana Blue Board franchise. The Diamana brand originally started with a mid-launch Blue Board profile back in 2005, and we believe this new BB profile to be a worthy modern-day successor.”
In 2024, Diamana earned its 40th driver-shaft-supported major win on professional tours.
The all-new Diamana BB will be available at authorised online retailers and club fitters worldwide beginning 6 September 2024 with a suggested RRP of £325. GR
