HONMA GOES FULL SPEED AHEAD WITH NEW TR20 RANGE

HONMA stockists can look forward to a bright start to the season thanks to the introduction of the high-performing Tour Release product line that has already made it into the bag of Tour star Justin Rose, with the TR20 460 driver

Engineered to deliver exceptional speed and Tour-level performance, clubs in the TR20 line include two holistically designed drivers and two sets of irons. Fairway woods, hybrids and further iron models are due out later this year.

Now the leading Japanese brand is synonymous with golfers for delivering performance and speed in beautifully-crafted designs, given the recent product releases.

TR20 succeeds the popular TW747 range and joins the XP-1 game-improvement family and luxury BERES line to offer serious golfers premium golf equipment.

HONMA has amassed over 60 years of the finest club building experience and harnessed feedback from some of the best golfers in the world to bring to market the incredibly fast TR20 range.

“Renowned for crafting the most premium products in golf at our factory in Sakata, the drivers are our most technologically advanced yet and the irons deliver the incredible looks and feel that we pride ourselves on at HONMA,” said Alejandro Sanchez, General Manager of HONMA Golf Europe.

    TR20 Drivers

The TR20 Drivers come in two beautifully shaped profiles – 460 and 440cc – in a near-total carbon body and lightweight titanium frame to deliver explosive distance and accuracy.

A TiCarbon Fast Frame comprises a lightweight, ribbed ET40 Carbon Crown that saves 14 grams of weight, while a Carbon sole saves 20g. The two premium components combine to reduce unwanted vibration for a more efficient deflection off the club face.

The sole features three strategically positioned weights, with a possible five weight options (3,6,9,12,15g) to ensure ball speed, launch, spin and swing weight can be optimised for greater distance and accuracy. Innovative vertical grooves feature behind the precision cast thin titanium face, saving an additional 2 grams of weight, providing increased face repulsion for explosive ball speeds.

The hosel incorporates the Non-Rotating System to allow eight possible loft and lie adjustments to be made, ensuring the spine of the shaft remains in the 6’oclock position for greater impact consistency.

The TR20 Drivers have been holistically engineered with the high performance VIZARD shafts (50,60,70g) to ensure all components work in perfect harmony. Additionally, the VIZARD FD/FP and Tour prototype shafts are available as an upgrade.

The TR20 460 and 440 drivers are available in 8.5°, 9.5° & 10.5° lofts, plus a weight kit is available for the perfect setup.

    TR20 Irons

Combining highly sought after HONMA craftsmanship with Tour-level performance, the TR20 irons have been engineered using the most premium materials to deliver incredibly precise feel, distance and control.

Crafted for golfers seeking a better player preferred blade length, the TR20 V iron is forged from the finest soft S20C carbon steel and incorporates a modern cavity back design. Built in strong but playable lofts, TR20 V irons feature a HONMA mole logo in the cavity as an emblem of uncompromised forging heritage, something that HONMA prides itself on.

The TR20 P irons are a true player’s distance iron with game improvement playability. They feature a forged S35C steel body with an L-cup face for increased ball speeds and a tungsten weighted pocket cavity to create speed-enhancing forgiveness on off centre strikes, while a low centre of gravity and high MOI is achieved for a high launch and longer carries.

TR20 irons have been designed to allow golfers to build the perfect set by blending forgiving P long irons with the more compact V short irons.

As standard, the TR20 irons will be offered with VIZARD TR20-85 graphite and Nippon Modus 105 shafts and are built with ascending weight for increased speed with longer irons and added control with short irons.

The first TR20 products will be available for fitting this month and at retail in March at the following RRPs per club: TR20 Drivers: £599/€699; TR20 V Iron: £219/€240 (Graphite) | £175/€200 (Steel); TR20 P Iron: £219/€240 (Graphite) | £175/€200 (Steel).

An additional set of Tour Release irons called the TR20B is currently in development.
