Wolsey bring British heritage to the fairways

Looking for a unique clothing opportunity for your Pro Shop with a strong British Heritage, and offering apparel that truly manages to hit the on course/off course sweetspot? Wolsey might be just the brand for your store.

British golf and lifestyle brand Wolsey has been enjoying a great start to 2019 with a strong sell-through of its Spring Summer 2019 collection in recent weeks. After stock landing with retailers through March and April, it’s been a fast start to the year for the brand

Founded in 1755, Wolsey is one of the oldest existing clothing companies in the world.  Its global reputation as an outfitter for pioneering men was sealed in 1911 when its breathable, thermal underwear was chosen by Captain Scott and his team for their race to the South Pole. Then in 1935, in a royal nod of approval to the superior quality of its products, Wolsey was appointed a Royal Warrant as official manufacturers to King George V, an honour still held to this day.

Wolsey combines the ruggedness of the outdoors, an explorer spirit, and a real sense of premium British fashion style. Luxurious merino knitwear, layering to give protection from the elements, and polo shirts utilising technical fabrics, cut to British fits, and in luxury British colour palettes, give the line a marked point of difference compared to other brands.

The Johnny Collar polo is a contemporary alternative to the usual piqué polo, featuring a contrast collar line inspired from off the course. The temperature regulating two-tone heathered pique jersey is ideal for both on course or everyday wear.

The Breton Crew neck sweater has real shelf appeal. Made from sports performance merino wool it features a Breton stripe design with engineered contrast stripe.

Wolsey use merino wool throughout their golf collections, as the wool breathes and manages moisture very effectively. It has strong wicking properties, strength, and resilience along with a natural heating and cooling system, ensuring all-year-round comfort.

Wolsey’s ambassadors include Eddie Pepperell who has been enjoying success both in Europe and on the PGA Tour. Robert Rock and Chris Hanson make up the brands tour staff, and all three be wearing seasonal collections on tour throughout 2019.

The Wolsey design team have been working closely with their golf ambassadors to improve and add to future collections.

Wolsey are excited to reveal their new collection for Spring Summer 2020. A distinct move with the times, there is a focus on detailing, new print executions, increased layering pieces, and new technical fabrics.

Trendy Sports Agency, who manage the Wolsey golf sales in the UK & Ireland, will be holding showrooms throughout July and August.
