UK golf club applies for on course alcohol licence

St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall has applied to its local council for permission to sell alcohol to golfers while they are playing on the course.

If approved then, as happens in America, buggies would carry drinks to golfers on the fairways, greens, tees and rough so they can drink as they play.

Last year Trump Turnberry successfully applied to councillors in Scotland to serve liquor to golfers from a buggy while they play at the resort, but this is still rare in the UK.
