Tour stars put new Titleist prototypes in play

Ttitleist reports that new Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototype golf balls have been in use on tour since October beginning with the US PGA Tour’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. Since then the prototypes have been put into play by well over 100 players including Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Ian Poulter and Rickie Fowler, as many Titleist Brand Ambassadors continue the testing process around the world.

Bubba Watson became the first player to win with the new Pro V1x prototype in November at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, the first week the American had chosen to tee up with the new prototype. The following Sunday, Titleist Brand Ambassador Charley Hoffman won the PGA Tour’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba with the new Pro V1x prototype, before two record-breaking victories from fellow Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth who entered a tremendous run of form with the new Pro V1x prototype, to claim the Australian Open and Hero World Golf Challenge in spectacular fashion.

Many other Titleist golf ball players were given the new prototype balls to continue to test with over the Christmas break, including Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Jamie Donaldson, Brooks Koepka, Victor Dubuisson and Henrik Stenson (pictured).
