TGI Golf & Callaway launch The Partnership Trophy

The TGI Golf Partnership and Callaway have come together to launch a new event, which will pit PGA Professionals from the United Kingdom and Ireland against one another.

Twickenham, Murrayfield, Aviva Stadium, Windsor Park, Wembley, Hampden Park – over the years these great venues have witnessed monumental battles between the nations of this shore. However, they will all pale into insignificance compared to the war that will be fought at The Belfry this September.

TGI Golf has launched The Partnership Trophy in association with Callaway, bringing together PGA Professionals from England & Wales, Scotland and Ireland to decide who rules the roost in the group.

Adele McLean, TGI Golf Group Services Manager, said: “We have worked extremely closely with Callaway over the last few years, forging a special relationship – the brand’s sponsorship of this event is truly appreciated and firmly cements that special bond we have. This new event is the perfect way for us to tap into the camaraderie of the Partnership with a little bit of friendly rivalry.”

Nick McInally, Marketing Director of Callaway EMEA, added: “Callaway is proud of its strong relationship with green-grass golf professionals and we are delighted to support the continually growing network that is the TGI golf Partnership. As a Scot, I have a biased view of who I’d like to win this inaugural event, but I’m sure it will be outstanding regardless of the final outcome!”

TGI Golf’s Retail Consultants will captain the teams, with Ian Martin skippering England & Wales, Paul Hay taking charge of Scotland and Peter Smyth leading the Irish.

There will be two qualifiers held in each country, with the top four players from each taking their place to represent their country in the main event staged at The Belfry on September 13.
