Nearly 50 golfers recently completed four rounds in a day at Fulwell GC, Twickenham, while wearing outfits provided by Royal & Awesome and raising money to fund pioneering research into issues affecting children, babies and pregnant women for the children’s medical research charity, Sparks. The £20,000 raised will go towards supporting the one in 30 babies born in the UK with a condition that could affect them for life.
The Sparks Challenge involves playing as many holes of golf in a day as possible and may be completed at a golf club of the participants’ choice, with Royal & Awesome rewarding teams of two or more players, who raise a minimum £400 for the charity, with a free pair of trousers for each team member.
Sean Whelan, club secretary at Fulwell, said, “We are delighted that Sparks chose Fulwell to host its golf challenge. Sparks is an extremely worthwhile cause and an organisation we are proud to welcome to our club. It’s been brilliant to see the Royal & Awesome clothing worn around the club. The bold designs create fantastic photo opportunities at events like this.”
