Richmond GC raises funds for On Course Foundation

The annual Captain’s Charity Day at The Richmond Golf Club raised over £15,000 for the On Course Foundation to support injured servicemen and women. On Course Foundation, also based in Richmond, supports injured service personnel and veterans by providing much needed funds to aid their physical and mental recovery. Over the past five years, On Course Foundation has supported over 400 injured and disabled servicemen and women providing many with the skills and confidence to go on to find employment in the golf industry.

The Richmond Golf Club’s Charity Day featured a ‘nearest the pin’ competition between the members and an On Course Foundation ambassador, a fund-raising lunch and an auction of golfing and sporting prizes. Other fund-raising events to be held by the club later in the year include a 72-hole ‘longest day’ challenge, and a Charity Day for corporate golf teams.

Jeremy Williams, Richmond Golf Club Captain, commented, “Everyone at Richmond Golf Club has been greatly touched to learn about the incredible work that the team at On Course Foundation carry out. Over the last eight years the club has raised over £300,000 for local charities, and we are very proud to be able to donate this year’s fund-raising to help servicemen and women who have been injured in the course of duty.” More at: www.therichmondgolfclub.com
