Peter Uihlein – First American to win Rookie-of-the-Year honors on the European Tour

24-year-old Peter Uihlein recently became the first American to win Rookie-of-the-Year honors on the European Tour.

The 2010 U.S. Amateur champion used Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 steel shafts with a TX flex in his irons during his worldwide travels to European Tour-sanctioned events.  After starting the year on the developmental European Challenge Tour, he earned full European Tour status with his victory at the Madeira Islands Open in Portugal, and finished 14th in the Race to Dubai.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the first American player ever to be named Rookie-of-the-Year on the European PGA Tour,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.  “Nippon Shaft is proud that the European Tour’s top rookie utilized the N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 TX flex shafts to take maximum advantage of his talent and hard work.”
