Nike Golf 360 App arrives in Europe

Version 2 of the NG 360 App has been released by Nike Golf, offering golfers detailed performance analysis on the course, training tips and video swing comparisons with Nike Tour golfers, and also equipment recommendations. The app is a free download and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod.

Available in a European version for the first time, the app contains course and scorecard information on over 5,000 European courses, and by scoring with the app, it will measure a golfer’s scoring average, driving accuracy, greens in regulation percentage and putts per round. It will set personal targets, record personal bests in each category and award virtual ‘trophies’ for improved performance. It can also keep virtual leaderboards, so that golfers can compete against registered golfers on other courses.

In terms of game improvement, golfers can upload video footage of their own golf swing to compare to friends’ swings and Tour players, and the app’s Functional Performance System will offer game improvement advice. The app also recommends specific Nike Golf equipment and apparel, and suggests driver settings according to performance on the course.

The launch of NG360 Version 2.0 follows the great success of the original NG360 version in the United States last year, which was downloaded over 225,000 times and was listed among iTunes’ list of ‘10 essential sports apps’ in 2012.
