New head of golf at Mottram Hall

It has been announced that Rob Warrener has been appointed as the new head of golf at Mottram Hall. Warrener will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of the golf industry to his new position having spent the last four-and-a-half years working in group golf administration and membership services with the De Vere Group and QHotels – the UK’s largest golf resort operator.

The 38-year-old took charge of the golf department at the award-winning venue near Macclesfield, Cheshire, at the start of the August and is excited at the chance to take his career in a new direction.

Warrener said: “After working for De Vere and QHotels for the last four-and-a-half years, I wanted to take on a new challenge and be more ‘hands on’ and interactive with our guests and staff on a daily basis. With Mottram Hall being one of the top golf resorts in the UK, with a number of awards to its name, and the golf event history surrounding the venue, the challenge doesn’t get much bigger than this.

“My aim is to continue to grow the business, with the primary focus on promoting golf itself, driving more people to take up the game, and, of course, our golf memberships, ensuring that our existing and new members feel part of a traditional club environment.”

Warrener’s arrival at Mottram Hall – one of 10 QHotels golf resorts in England and Scotland – coincides with an exciting time for the hotel and leisure complex as it awaits permission to begin a major upgrade and expansion of its facilities. The resort has submitted a full planning application to to alter and extend the conference and accommodation facilities in its four-star hotel, including building a new two-storey conference centre extension and increasing its number of bedrooms to 165.
