New Director of Education at CMAE

The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) have announced the appointment of Torbjörn Johansson as its new Director of Education.

Following a Europe-wide search for the position attracting extensive interest from sports and golf management professionals, Swedish native Johansson was identified as the preferred candidate.

Torbjörn is the current Chief Executive Officer at the Golf Club Management Association of Sweden (GAF) and has worked in a variety of roles and organisations in the sports industry for the last 20 years, including the Swedish Rugby Federation and the Swedish Volleyball Association. He will take up his post as CMAE Director of Education on October 16th, 2017 and will oversee the development of the Association as it moves forward with its strategic plan working closely with CMAE’s Corporate and Alliance Partners.

Johansson succeeds Michael Braidwood CCM, who is leaving CMAE in September to take up the position of General Manager at Qatar International Golf Club after a successful three-year tenure as the Association’s Director of Education.

Torbjörn Johansson commented: “I am proud to be given this opportunity to develop an organisation striving forward. CMAE has very professional members with an action-orientated Board plus a fantastic potential that creates success. I look forward to welcoming more club managers onto our education programme as well as becoming members of CMAE.”
