Lynn wins Portugal Masters

Adidas Tour Staff Player David Lynn came from six shots behind to card an 8-under 63 in the final round to win the Portugal Masters by one stroke at the Oceanico Victoria Golf Course in Algarve, Portugal. The win marks the second European Tour title for 39 year old Lynn.  He has had to wait since the 2004 Dutch Open to claim a title although he was runner-up to Rory McIlroy at the 2012 PGA Championship.

Lynn made nine birdies and a bogey to record an eight-under-par 63.  This victory moves him inside the Top 40 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

It’s emotional,” said Lynn.

“To go nine years without a victory and come close so many times you start to question whether you can do it again”.

“It feels fantastic. This one’s special as it’s been so long since a win and it’s just a week before my 40th birthday”.

“To get another win before I turn 40 is an early birthday present”

And what a birthday present! Lynn picked up a winners cheque for £282,905.
