Joël Stalter became the first Nike athlete to record victory using the new Nike Flyknit Elite footwear, overturning a five-shot deficit at the Swedish Challenge.

The Nike Flyknit Elite features a new innovation – Articulated Integrated Traction – that has been developed via intensive research and athlete testing. This all-new traction decouples the medial heel and lateral forefoot area to help propel the athlete through the swing. A unique TPU tread design offers continuous traction that replaces traditional spikes without sacrificing grip.

The Nike Flyknit Elite also utilises a full-length Lunarlon midsole for responsive cushioning and a lightweight, breathable one-piece Flyknit upper – the first time Flyknit has featured in golf footwear. Dynamic Flywire provides midfoot lockdown throughout the motion of the swing while a mid-height collar conforms to the athlete’s foot and helps prevent grass and other debris from entering the shoe.

“I’ve been with Nike for two years now, and I have always enjoyed working with the various product teams who do their best to help me remain competitive on the course. The Flyknit Elite footwear is another product I’ve felt extremely comfortable with and had no hesitation lacing them up on the final day this week,” said Stalter.

On the body, Stalter wore a selection of Performance Apparel including the Nike MM Fly Swing Knit Block Alpha which features the blade collar and modern fit design favoured by Nike athletes. The polo has been engineered to offer enhanced mobility for the golfer through all stages of the swing.
