Horschel wins FedExCup

Billy Horschel won the US PGA Tour Championship with a final round three under par 69 to complete a three stroke victory. He becomes the first player to top the FedExCup Play-Offs after starting the series outside of the top-30. Having started the season-ending FedExCup Play-Offs‎ in 69th position, Horschel moved to 20th following a runner-up finish at the Deutsche Bank Championship and to second with victory at last weeks’ BMW Championship, before topping the standings to claim the $10million bonus with his win at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

Horschel played the Titleist Pro V1x. Titleist golf balls were also the choice of the majority of the field‎, with 19 of the 29 players, compared to four for the nearest competitor. Horschel also wore FJ Icon shoes and a FJ StaSof glove.

Horschel commented “It’s unbelievable. I remember talking to my wife. She said, ‘You’re probably just waiting until the season is over because it hasn’t been a great year,’ and I sort of was, but at the same time I knew my game was in the right shape and I just needed to get out of my own way, allow my game to show and it has the last three weeks. I’ve shown I can go toe-to-toe with the best player in the world and come out on top, and that’s going to be huge for me going forward.”
