Hiseman Re-Brands As Magic Hour Media

One of the golf industry’s longest-running PR and marketing agencies is to change its name, as it expands with a series of new client arrivals and a larger team.

Magic Hour Media is the new identity of Hiseman Limited, which has represented many of the sport’s best-known brands since 2002.

Joining agency head Andy Hiseman at Magic Hour Media will be a group of the sport’s best specialist golf freelancers, providing extra support in the areas of copywriting, photography, video, content marketing, social media, advertising and media buying, digital, web, email, graphic design and PR account handling.

Magic Hour Media has also announced the first additions to its client list for 2014.

Oxfordshire golf resort Heythrop Park, high-performance golf equipment & training systems firm Zen Oracle, historic Leeds club Moor Allerton GC, Miami-style adventure golf experts Adventure Golf Ltd, and London’s latest ‘signature’ golf course The Dye London are the latest companies to agree representation deals with the South Yorkshire-based agency.

“The name-change is long overdue” said Hiseman. “I started the company in 2002 while on a consultancy job for Centrica, and in all this time I hadn’t got around to giving it its own name. ’Magic hour’ describes the time at dawn and twilight when a golf course looks its best, so it is appropriate given that we photograph a lot of golf courses, but it’s also a brand name which we will be using for a number of different things.

“The Magic Hour model is simple: we fit the client’s current needs to the best people available in the industry at the time” said Hiseman. “So if you need an expert golf travel writer, or a golf social media specialist, or an experienced local press golf journalist for example, Magic Hour finds them, and puts them to work on your account.

“This enables us to keep our fixed costs low, which in turn makes us competitively priced.”

Current Magic Hour clients include Crown Golf, SkyCaddie, Honma, The Shire London and West London Golf Centre among others.

Magic Hour Photography, a service for golf clubs featuring a group of experienced golf photographers across the UK and Europe, launched in summer 2013 and has become part of the Magic Hour Media agency offering.

Prior to forming the agency, Andy Hiseman was Publisher of Bauer’s golf magazine portolio (previously Emap) including Today’s Golfer, Golf World, FORE!, Golf Weekly and Golf Industry News. He is co-creator of the two-flag PowerPlay Golf format along with Peter McEvoy OBE. Prior to joining the golf industry he worked at News International and RTL, and was Marketing Manager at Hornby Hobbies.

A new Magic Hour Media website will launch in spring 2014.
