Golphinforkids chosen for R&A Swingzone at the Open

Golphinforkids golf clubs for children, has been chosen by The R&A for its Swingzone area at this year’s Open Championship. The R&A Swingzone is one of the most popular activities at The Open Championship and is designed to promote golf to all levels from beginners to scratch golfers. Adults and kids of all ages can come along and book a lesson with a qualified PGA professional free of charge.

Last year, 22 PGA professionals helped to deliver more than 3,000 free 15 minute lessons during the week and Golphinforkids clubs were tried and tested by hundreds of youngsters. They are said to be 30 percent lighter and more forgiving than conventional junior clubs, with a 35 percent larger sweet spot. As a result, children find it much easier to learn to swing properly, keep balanced throughout the swing, make a positive contact with the ball and get it airborne.

Duncan Weir, the R&A executive director- Working for Golf, commented, “The R&A purchased Golphinforkids equipment and used it at last year’s Open Championship and it proved very popular – so we will be offering it again at St Andrews in July. The high quality and versatility of the Golphinforkids kit is very impressive. It is certainly well geared for getting youngsters into golf and helping to address the undoubted participation issues the sport is currently facing here in Great Britain and Ireland.”

To help PGA professionals with kids coaching, Golphinforkids offers golf pros a discounted rate Coaching Pack which is made up of twelve clubs in a bag, customised to the needs of the age profile and heights of the kids. More at: www.golphinforkids.com
