Golf Retailing acquires Pro Shop Europe

Swink Media, publishers of Golf Retailing, the leading magazine for the UK golf trade, is delighted to announce the acquisition of Pro Shop Europe from the Mark Allen Group (MAG) for an undisclosed sum.

Miles Bossom, CEO at Swink Media commented: “Pro Shop Europe has been serving the European golf trade for thirty years and the brand is well known in the industry. While, since our launch in 2013, Golf Retailing has been widely accepted as the UK’s number one golf trade title, Pro Shop Europe offers a unique opportunity to further enhance our footprint in the golf business and provide clients with targeted European coverage.”

Further details on the shape of the business and how Pro Shop Europe will complement Golf Retailing will be announced in the coming weeks.

Speaking about the transaction, Ben Allen, CEO of MAG, said: “Pro Shop Europe is an excellent and well-established brand in the golf retailing sector, but it no longer fits with MAG’s strategic direction.  Although it is sad to lose the magazine from our portfolio, MAG is delighted that Pro Shop Europe has found a great home at Swink Media and we look forward to seeing the brand develop and grow in an organisation with such a strong reputation in the golf trade.”
