New fabric technology from Galvin Green for Europe’s Ryder Cup team

As the Official Team Supplier of Weatherwear to Europe’s 2016 Ryder Cup Team competing at Hazeltine National, Galvin Green has produced an advanced range of high-performance outerwear clothing for Darren Clarke’s Team.

Four exclusive Galvin Green garments have been chosen by the Team Captain for Europe’s finest players to wear during the 41^st Ryder Cup contest in a classic white and two-tone blue colourway. Each garment incorporates a new fabric technology or style element.

Ryder Cup C-KNIT jackets

The flagship model is a brand new waterproof jacket Made from an ultra-lightweight stretch GORE-TEX fabric using a complex 3-layer construction, the full-zip jacket weighs just 260 grams and features a revolutionary C-KNIT backer. This exclusive Japanese-made fabric has a super-smooth hand feel and can ‘slide & glide’ easily over garments worn underneath to aid the swing. Totally waterproof, as well as highly breathable and durable, the latest Shell layer incorporates chest, collar, cuff and waist adjusters to maximize performance. The jacket is also available in a short-sleeved version with a half-zip, a style that the brand first introduced to golfing waterproofs in 2005. Both jackets carry the European flag on the back of the collar, plus the official Ryder Cup event logo on the left chest.

Ryder Cup C-KNIT trousers

Matching the new rain jackets is a pair of premium waterproof trousers weighing only 350 grams and made in the same ultra-lightweight stretch GORE-TEX fabric with the C-KNIT backer that can ‘slide & glide’ easily over garments worn underneath. Based on consumer feedback on ease of access, the trousers have two long leg openings zipped with water-repellent zippers at the back, rather than the sides to create a standout design feature. The trousers also include two front pockets with water repellent zippers and two covered back pockets, plus an elasticated waist with integrated drawstring. The hem of each trouser leg is reinforced with exceptionally durable fabric, while a silhouette of the famous Ryder Cup trophy appears below the knee on the left leg.

Ryder Cup GORE WINDSTOPPER

A Soft Shell GORE WINDSTOPPER has been added to the Ryder Cup range to complement the other garments in terms of styling and performance. The 3-layer, full-zip jacket combines a tight-knit Polyester outer layer with a GORE WINDSTOPPER membrane and a moisture-management inner layer.
