Competition to find the UK’s greatest amateur golf hole

Ten of Britain’s most picturesque and challenging amateur golf holes have been shortlisted to be crowned the UK’s best, as online voting now begins for golfers to choose their favourite. The winning club will earn the title of The UK’s Greatest Amateur Hole in the grass roots campaign organised by BusinessInsuranceFor.com, which provides business insurance services for golf and other sports clubs.

The campaign aims to shine the spotlight on lesser known golf clubs across the UK. In addition to the prestigious title, the winning club will receive a commemorative plaque, while the golfer who nominated the hole will win a Scotty Cameron putter worth up to the value of £280. The winning entry will be based on the highest number of public votes, coupled with the decision of an expert independent judging panel, comprising; Brendon Pyle, Chief Executive of The Golf Foundation, Michael Coffey, Publisher at The Golf Club Secretary, and Traviss Willcox, Editor of Golf Today.
